HEALTHY BODY- A TEMPLE OF SOUL

“You cannot buy your health; you must earn it through healthy living”

The cruel clutches of COVID 19 pandemic has opened, a whole box of miseries for the mankind at large. A very well said quote in Sanskrit from Upanishad says: -

‘शरीरमाद्यं खलु धर्म साधनम्’

This means that the body is the only means to perform all its duties. Therefore, it is very important to keep the body healthy, because all the duties and tasks must be accomplished through this body. Therefore, it is the first duty of man to protect this precious body and to keep it healthy.
In this difficult challenging time, we as students have realized the importance of health and hygiene and our concerted efforts with the school fraternity has kept our school completely immune, of this pandemic. A regular routine, starting with a healthy Yoga & exercise in open air in the serene morning pumps Oxygen into our system for day long tasks. The balanced, age & task appropriate diet with all components of healthy food is served at regular intervals in a very hygienic ambience of our dining hall. Our teachers & mentors ensure that each student follows all COVID guidelines like regular thermal screening, wearing clean mask, maintaining physical distancing all the time at all places, frequent handwash etc. The school has made all adequate arrangements for sanitization of every nook and corner.
The pandemic has also brought about a realization to all of us that it is not only the personal hygiene & self-healthy practices which will ensure our well being rather the wellness & health of entire mankind is the need of the hour.
We students of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani, through this platform of our Science blog “ANVESHAN’ appeal to all on The ‘ World Health Day-2021’ - to stay & live healthy & let all stay & live healthy. There should be no discrimination with regards to health care & health facilities.
Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live in.

“Health is much more dependent on our habits and nutrition than on Medicine”

April 7 of each year marks the celebration of World Health Day. From its inception at the first health assembly in 1948 and since taking the effect in 1950,the celebration has aimed to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization.

The theme for 2021 is “Building A Fairer, Healthier World”.

The campaign highlights WHO’s Constitutional Principle that “The Enjoyment Of The Fundamental Rights Of Every Human Being Without Distinction Of Race, Religion , Political Belief , Economic Or Social Condition”.

In recent years , Countries have experienced rapid economic growth , migration and urbanization. This created opportunities for better lives for many, but left others behind. The COVID-19 pandemic has undercut recent health gains, pushed more people into poverty and food insecurity, and amplified gender, social and health inequities. This World Health Day , we’re calling for action to eliminate health inequities, as part of a year-long global campaign to bring people together to build a fairer, healthier world.

It is also that an unhealthy population are a liability for the economy because an unhealthy person has less productivity and has to spend more money on his medical care than a healthy person .

So, it is our utmost duty to take certain precautions and keep ourselves mentally, socially and physically well , by consuming healthy food, doing exercise or meditation by chanting ‘OM’ , by keeping the surrounding clean and having a proper sleep.
